Events This 4th of July, we celebrated at Kirill’s place. He lives in an amazing spot with plenty of land. The Spring of Life youth group joined us as well, making it a fantastic gathering!
I wanted to capture some drone shots, but it was too dark to orient myself properly. I couldn’t distinguish up from down, which made flying dangerous, I even crashed into a tree. To see anything, I had to set the ISO so high that the video quality suffered.
Solutions for flying a drone on the 4th of July:
- Choose a location with some ambient light, such as a city, where ground lights help with orientation.
- Try flying during sunset, when there’s still enough light to see.
- Use a high-ISO FPV camera for navigation, and mount a second camera with optimal ISO settings to capture more beautiful footage.
